Challenge Groups
Work on a real challenge alongside people facing it too
Challenge Groups are reserved for organisations that have funding from Access To Justice Foundation ‘ILTA’ or City Bridge Foundation ‘Access to Justice’ Programme.
Challenge Groups bring together small groups of people from organisations facing a similar live challenge.
They are not training courses and you don't need to arrive with the answers. They are a structured space to work through something that matters to your organisation, alongside people asking similar questions.
Each Challenge Group focuses on a particular issue – from developing a new service to tackling an organisational or leadership challenge. Over a series of facilitated sessions, members bring their own experience, plans and questions; test their thinking with others; and work together to develop practical responses.
The exact journey isn't completely mapped out in advance. We start with the challenge and some of the questions we think matter, but the members of the group help shape where we focus and what we create together.
How they work
Challenge Groups usually run over several months and combine facilitated discussion, peer challenge and practical work between sessions.
We expect members to contribute, not just attend. That means being willing to share what is happening in your organisation, ask questions, test assumptions, offer your experience to others and try things out between meetings.
Alongside making progress on their own challenge, groups may co-create practical tools, approaches or resources that can be used by members and, where agreed, shared more widely.
The aim is simple: to leave with better thinking, practical work you can use and greater confidence about what to do next.
